At some point this week a tree fell on the path. I cut hard to avoid it doing a full slide on a wet root. The bridges were wet and slippery as well.

Damnit, I cannot go riding at the moment and you are making me jealous

I’m also sidelined. I destroyed a wheel and bent the frame last weekend, and wasn’t planning on buying a new bike until spring.
*sad trombone*

That looks like a great ride.

Didn’t you disassemble your whole bike? How’s that going

That sux. That must have been a hard hit. How did you do that

Nowhere because I’m still looking for all the screws

The Kawasaki project is still coming along. I killed my trek hardtail with a gravity assist.
Edit: whoops. Replied to the wrong person.

Where are you located? I finally got out this morning after a week of rain and the conditions were much of the same. If the approach isn’t straight on, bail!

I’m a little south of boston

I had to click on this title.
Carry on, and happy riding. (Gorgeous trail, though.)

Bailed and flung in midair to avoid another scar. I landed on my feet. The bike did not.

The bike didn’t land on your feet? That’s a good thing!

Damn that sux. A few years ago I hit a trench hidden by grass going down a hill. Luckily for the bike my body broke it’s fall.

The best part is that these trails are right out my back yard

I’m in Southern NJ too! Hello!

It’s been raining here all weekend and isn’t supposed to stop all week
This is a trail about 3 hours from my house, there are a few more very similar about half an hour.
I’ve been watching mtb vids much of the day to get my fix.

thats not you is it? some of that stuff looks REALLY narrow.
this is not me but i’ve been there. its an old ski mountain transformed into a mountain bike park.

Hey there!

No not me. And yeah, a lot if trails here are really narrow. That one gets a lot less traffic because it’s in the middle of nowhere, so I’d a bit more overgrown than what I usually ride.
That looks fun! We have a mountain bike park on a ski hill here too, but it still functions for skiing in the winter too. Haven’t been there yet though, heard it’s really really rocky and needs a much better bike than I’ve got.

O yea. The first time I went I brought my $600 hard tail and quickly realized I was way under prepared. He next time we rented $8000 full suspension bikes from the mountain. Soooo much better

I plan on doing that next summer. But I also plan on buying my own full suspension bike, though closer to a grand, used, not eight.

At least it wasnt knee deep water. I have a trail near me that I enjoy biking after a good rain because it gets crazy flooded. Knee deep water in some sections (but just barely hits the pedals on my bike). Also there is one stream crossing where you have to commit to it at speed otherwise you get stuck standing (or laying) in the stream. I have never had more mud caked on everything though than that!

even with the rain we got the trails are still pretty dry compared to what the usually are. most of the wettest areas have foot bridges for people walking, but even those streams were at best just mud.
